Our client provide engineering solutions to the Nuclear, Defence and Oil and gas sectors are looking to recruit a talented Project Engineer,
Reporting to the Engineering Manager, the successful candidate will provide Project engineering expertise on single and multi disciplinary project. Ideally, the candidate will be of graduate calibre, chartered or working toward chartered status, capable and flexible, with the depth of knowledge and practical experience required to work with the engineering team and major suppliers on activities including design, manufacture, installation, commissioning and to demonstrate design requirements, relevant specifications and standards, quality assurance. A track record of Project Engineering experience in one or more of the power, nuclear, defence, pharmaceutical, process and utility sectors is essential, with knowledge of defence and nuclear engineering being an advantage.
Knowledge and application of the requirements of UK/EU Laws and Regulations applicable to mechanical and pressure systems and an understanding of for example Pressure Equipment Directive, Machinery Directive, etc. pertaining to this discipline . Experience of plant design, implementation and commissioning would be advantageous.
Key Responsibilities:
? Being the lead Mechanical Project Engineer for a small team of experienced design engineers.
? Management and production of Mechanical deliverables in support of a Project including detailed conventional and bespoke equipment specifications, equipment datasheets, General Arrangement drawings, Mechanical Sequence diagrams, Technical reports and studies.
? Operating and competently working on an independent basis while leading and encouraging more junior engineering staff.
? Undertaking detailed design and tender documentation for multi discipline projects
? Preparing technical schedules
? Planning and managing CAD documentation of design work
? Ensuring that appropriate design deadlines are met within agreed deadlines and within budget.
? Communicate effectively within the multidiscipline design team in addition to Client and Supply Chain representatives to ensure project requirements and expectations are met.
? Ensure all technical deliverables and data are prepared and structured in accordance with relevant design codes and standards.
? Management of effective change control throughout detailed design.
? Effective management and resolution of design confliction.
? Ensure the design meets the operational/ design requirements, and any Safety Functional requirements
? Check, verify and approve engineering documents in line with the technical specifications
? Present design packages to clients and undertake internal and external design review processes.
